Rental periods and meter limits
Rental charges apply while equipment is away from the yard, subject to the signed agreement. The current contract defines the following meter limits.
- One-day rental: up to 8 meter hours.
- Weekly rental: up to 40 meter hours.
- Four-week rental: up to 160 meter hours.
- Overtime: $50 per metered hour for compact equipment or $75 per hour for large equipment.

Condition, cleaning and fuel
Equipment is provided clean, fueled and in good working order and must be returned in the same condition. The renter must verify condition at receipt and check and maintain fluid levels daily.
- Minimum cleaning fee: $250, with $100 per hour for time over two hours.
- Fuel is billed at $10 per gallon under the current contract.
- Repair labor is listed at $90 per hour for small-engine equipment and $120 per hour for diesel equipment, implements, attachments and transportation-related repairs.

Payment and deposit
Full rental payment and the required deposit are due at the time of rental. After return, the deposit is refunded less applicable overage, refueling, cleaning or repair charges.

Loss, damage and malfunctions
The renter is responsible for loss or damage during the rental term. Defects, malfunctions or damage must be reported immediately, and repairs must be performed by Mad Moose Equipment. Continuing to operate malfunctioning equipment may make the renter responsible for resulting damage.
- The agreement identifies misuse or abuse, exceeding capacity, improper maintenance, excessive wear, foreign-object ingestion and lack of operating knowledge among conditions considered when assessing loss or damage.

Safe operation
Safety equipment must remain installed and be used. Operators must be familiar with safe operation and use equipment only for its intended purpose and within normal capacity. An operating demonstration is available at delivery when requested.

Pickup and transportation
Customer hauling equipment must satisfy South Carolina DOT safety requirements, including working trailer lighting. Self-transport is subject to Mad Moose Equipment's discretion.
- The current contract states free delivery for qualifying heavy-equipment rentals up to 15 road miles from the dealership.
- Beyond 15 miles, heavy-equipment delivery is listed at $7 per loaded mile from and to the dealership.
- Small-engine equipment and tractor or skid-steer attachments are listed at $7 per loaded mile from and to the dealership.

Possession and permitted use
Equipment must remain under the renter's possession and control, be protected when not in use and be operated only by competent authorized operators. It may not be subleased or removed from the county and state specified in the contract without written consent.

Agreement and disputes
The signed rental agreement controls the rental. It includes provisions addressing title, legal compliance, repossession, collection costs, arbitration, venue and South Carolina dispute resolution. Review the complete agreement before signing.
